Our team are experts in all things tourism marketing, trade distribution and representation, tourism consulting and tourism experience/product development.  The DR Tourism project team bring a number of strengths including:

Highly experienced personnel with a spread of complementary skills and a capacity to deliver strong levels of ROI based on many other successful tourism projects and initiatives. 


 

A profound knowledge of tourism, marketing, and economic development, master planning and urban place making, within a private and public sector context (with managerial experience at CEO, Director of Economic Development and Tourism level).

We have worked inside, managed, set up and reviewed Regional Tourism Organisations, Local Tourism Organisations, DMPs and visitor services operations whilst being inside and outside council operating environments.

We utilise well-tested strategic analysis processes and have expert facilitation skills within our team.

Strong stakeholder and project management experience across often very challenging environments and a proven record for working collaboratively with people at all levels including senior executives, frontline managers, staff, politicians, committees and boards.

Danielle Andreuzzi

DANIELLE ANDREUZZI Director

Danielle’s experience spans over 18 years working in the tourism industry in Australia, where she has held numerous senior sales and marketing roles with key tourism organisations within Queensland. Some of these roles have included Sales, Marketing and Reservations Manager at The Fraser Island Company, Marketing Manager at Tourism Fraser Coast and more.

Danielle has also worked as Acting General Manager of Tourism Fraser Coast. In Danielle’s roles with Tourism Fraser Coast and Fraser Coast Opportunities, she was responsible for all destination marketing, trade and promotion activities for the Fraser Coast region, driving increased levels of overnight visitation, length of stay and visitor expenditure.

Danielle specialises in tourism trade development and direct to consumer marketing. She has secure relationships with major trade and media partners throughout Australia, as well as a number of key international media and trade partners. Danielle has played a lead role in numerous trade focused industry development programs in a variety of destinations.

ROBBIE CORNELIUS Director

Robbie has extensive experience in destination management, industry development (with a keen focus on one on one mentoring), marketing, ongoing experience development, having held key roles within Regional Tourism Organisations and his own consulting businesses, namely DR Tourism and the Institute for Tourism Leadership Australia, both of which Robbie co-founded.

Whilst working in both Regional and State Tourism Organisations, Robbie has held key roles such as Tourism Development Manager at Tourism Fraser Coast, Manager of Tourism at Fraser Coast Opportunities and Interim General Manager at both Tourism Fraser Coast and Fraser Coast Opportunities.

Robbie has also worked in a shared role between Fraser Coast Opportunities and Tourism and Events Queensland as a Destination Manager. In his capacity as co-founder and Director of DR Tourism, Robbie has been extensively involved in a range of tourism marketing and industry development initiatives across Queensland and New South Wales.
Leigh Bennett

LEIGH BENNETT Performance & Relationship Manager

Leigh is an experienced business consultant, executive coach, business owner, board director and a former
 HR Manager, local government CEO and educator. His portfolio of consulting and feasibilities reflects his eclectic background and strong generalist skills across tourism, economic development, property developments, aviation and primary health care.

Leigh knows the tourism sector well having established and managed tourism and economic development departments in local government, set up Local Tourism Organisations, been a director on RTOs and scoped the feasibility of, and built, new VICs and led the redevelopment of the Hervey Bay Airport to jet capacity, securing direct flights from Sydney and winning Australian Major Airport of the Year in 2006.

He set up the first Accessible Tourism industry cluster winning a national award in 2000, has been a director on Regional Tourism Organisation boards, an Interim General Manager of Fraser Coast Opportunities and Interim CEO for the Hervey Bay Boat Club ($50M turnover, 250 staff hospitality and tourism operator).

JULIA CLEAVER Hospitality Specialist

Julia Paussa has 18 years' experience in the hospitality and tourism industries in Australia and Europe. She is the former owner of the award winning Coast Restaurant in Hervey Bay, on Queensland's Fraser Coast. The restaurant is often coveted as changing the landscape of dining on the Fraser Coast and won many awards while Julia was at the helm.

The most notable awards included the Good Food Guide Chefs Hat for three consecutive years between 2013 - 2016, as well as their Diners Choice Award in 2014.Coast was featured in many publications including The Australian, Courier Mail, Qantas Magazine, Indulge Magazine and most recently in Tourism and Events Queensland's 'Food Discovery' campaign.

During her time at Coast, Julia also produced several annual events including The Dinner Club, The Sunset Pier Party and The Fraser Coast Food Journey.

Julia has been an Appetite for Excellence Young Restaurateur finalist, a Fraser Coast Young Businessperson of The Year and Queensland Young Tourism Leader. Prior to establishing Coast, Julia worked in management roles at several leading hospitality businesses nationwide, including E'cco Bistro and the Ghanem Group.

LOUISE TERRY PR & Digital Specialist

A respected professional with 25 years of experience in the tourism industry, from State Government and regional tourism to consulting in marketing and strategy, Louise brings wellhoned skills in destination marketing, media planning and buying, strategic planning, social and digital campaigns, international trade and consumer activations.

While working with the Victorian Government, Louise delivered on a range of company priorities for Tourism Victoria, from state-wide strategic tourism plans and regional tourism development programs to product development and targeted niche marketing campaigns. As head of marketing with Tourism Noosa, Louise managed a $2 million AUD marketing budget to position one of Australia’s leading high end holiday destinations to domestic and international visitors, developing and implementing targeted annual marketing campaigns to achieve key measures. Louise was also Deputy CEO of Tourism Noosa, with demonstrated capacity to govern and advocate, communicate at senior levels and develop sophisticated tourism plans and measurement reporting.

Launching her tourism strategy and marketing consultancy in 2019, Louise has contributed her expertise to destination management plans, niche sector strategic opportunities, media and content development and mentoring programs for tourism operators to enhance marketing skills.

NICOLE RIKSMAN Industry Development Manager - The Whitsundays

With over 12 years travel industry experience, Nicole has held various senior roles, from Brand Leader for Student Flights QLD, Regional Leader for Escape Travel VIC and Tasmania, and General Manager for Flight Centre in WA and NT. Curious and customer experience obsessed; Nicole has been recognised for her business improvement initiatives within the industry.

Over 12 years travel industry experience, Nicole has held various senior roles across Australia, from Brand Leader for Student Flights Queensland, Regional Leader for Escape Travel Victoria and Tasmania, and General Manager for Flight Centre in Western Australia and Northern Territory. Curious and customer experience obsessed; Nicole has been recognised for her business improvement initiatives within the industry.

Nicole recently completed her MBA, working on a number of projects from small start-up to large scale organisations with a focus on brand and product development. She has recently been working in the Energy sector as a Value Delivery Manager, identifying value opportunities to cater to the evolving needs of business customers.

THE TWEED TOURISM COMPANY

The Tweed Tourism Company is the official destination management and marketing organisation for the Tweed region, funded by the Tweed shire Council. Following a rigorous tender process, DR Tourism was appointed to deliver these services on behalf of council in 2018.

Sally is our Industry Liaison go-to for the region’s tourism businesses. She is a direct contact point for marketing and development opportunities and a support on the ground for industry to share their successes and challenges. Sally is passionate about regional tourism and helping small businesses to grow and prosper.

Ginny Francis

GINNY FRANCIS Finance & Administration, Tweed Tourism Company

Ginny oversees all of the important administrative and financial functions of the organisation and is your key point of contact for any invoicing or payment queries. She handles the day-to-day engine room of the Tweed Tourism Company with expertise, attention-to-detail and always with a smile on her face!

GREER ZUNKER Marketing Specialist, Tweed Tourism Company

Greer manages the region’s destination marketing campaigns to drive visitation to the Tweed. She is also responsible for the Tweed’s regional events platform, What’s On Tweed. Greer is passionate about integrated and collaborative marketing campaigns to positively promote the region.
