Destination Representation

We have strong expertise in setting up Local Tourism Organisations and managing the tourism interests of destinations. DR Tourism currently manages all tourism functions including destination marketing, industry and experience development, and visitor information services in the Tweed Shire region on behalf of Tweed Shire Council. 

Our team has and continues to work with a number of Destinations to drive their tourism needs - such as driving increased levels of visitation, visitor dispersal, visitor spend and average length of stay.  We have worked with a number of Regional Tourism Organisations and Local Councils in a destination representation capacity - some of these projects have been smaller, ad-hoc representation projects, whilst others have been implemented on a longer term, more strategic basis.

A key example of our holistic, all encompassing Destination Representation approach and skillset is demonstrated through our contract with Tweed Shire Council.  After a very thorough tender process, DR Tourism was awarded a 4 year contract in 2018 to manage all destination marketing, tourism industry and experience development, and visitor information services on behalf of Council.  We subsequently established the Tweed Tourism Company - the region’s peak tourism organisation which is fully staffed with a talented team of tourism professionals based in the Tweed region.
