Grant & Award Submission Writing

We have successfully prepared a large number of funding applications and tourism award submissions at a local, state and national level.  Numerous clients of DR Tourism have received state and national recognition through key programs such as the Queensland Tourism Awards and the Australian Tourism Awards.

Boasting a fantastic track record in successful funding applications and award submissions, just some of our recent achievements include:

  • Tweed Hinterland Trails (2020/21) - We prepared an application and were successful in obtaining $145,000 from the Federal Government for the delivery of this project, involving trail and itinerary development, and subsequent promotion;
  • Tweed Resilient Leadership Program (2020) - $100,000 was applied for and gained from the NSW Government to deliver this resilient leadership program in partnership with Tweed Shire Council;
  • Mackay and Whitsundays Resilience Leadership Programs (2019/20, 2020/21) - $180,000 in funding was successfully gained from the Queensland Government to deliver these programs across 2 years (1 per annum);
  • Tourism Noosa Leadership Program (2019/20) - $55,000 was obtained for Tourism Noosa to deliver this program through the Federal Government’s Building Better Regions program;
  • Bundaberg and Gladstone Leadership Programs (2019/20) - $100,000 was successfully gained from the Queensland Government to enable the successful delivery of these programs. We prepared the funding applications on behalf of both Gladstone Area Promotion and Development Ltd (GAPDL) and Bundaberg Tourism;
  • Tasman Venture State Award Submission - Tour Operator Category (2019/20) - Tasman Venture was acknowledged as the best Tour Operator in Queensland, receiving the Gold Award at the 2019 Queensland Tourism Awards. They then also went on to win the Bronze at the 2019 Australian Tourism Awards for the same category;
  • Mackay Visitor Information Centre State Award Submission - Visitor Information Services Category (2019/20) - The Mackay Visitor Information Centre was acknowledged as the one of the best visitor information service providers in Queensland, receiving the Silver Award at the 2019 Queensland Tourism Awards.
  • Hervey Bay Visitor Information Centre State Award Submission - Visitor Information Services Category (2019/20) - The Hervey Bay Visitor Information Centre was acknowledged as the best visitor information service provider in Queensland, receiving the Gold Award at the 2015 Queensland Tourism Awards.
  • Fraser Coast Recreational Fishing Strategy (2014 – 2015) - $520,000 in funding was successfully gained from the Queensland Government to implement a fishing campaign to position the Fraser Coast as ‘Australia’s Home of Fishing’. This campaign involved a partnership between Fraser Coast Tourism and Events and Marine Media, the producers of the made for TV fishing competition ‘The Australian Fishing Championships’ or the AFC;
  • Australia’s Nature Coast 2014/15 and 2013/14 - obtained $120,000 in funding from the Queensland Government to assist in the creation and subsequent implementation of the highly successful Australia’s Nature Coast campaign (awarded GOLD for Destination Marketing in the 2015 Queensland Tourism Awards). A further $317,500 was successfully obtained in 2014/15;
  • Whale Resilience Program 2013/14 - $100,000 was obtained from the Queensland Government to assist Hervey Bay based tourism operators to diversify and enhance their current experience offerings through the purchase of new equipment and web-based technology; and
  • Whale Education and Community Engagement Strategy 2013/14 - $199,500 was successfully obtained from the state government to develop the Junior Whale Whisperer Program (whale education program targeting junior schools across Queensland), to promote the Hervey Bay whale festival and to enhance the displays and experience offerings within the Fraser Coast Discovery Sphere.
