Cape Hillsborough Sunrise Wallabies Business Case

DR Tourism finalised a Business Case which outlines a number of recommendations and opportunities for the ongoing, sustainable management of the Cape Hillsborough Sunrise Wallabies Experience. This project involved extensive stakeholder engagement with tourism operators and several government departments. We are throroughly looking forward to seeing the experience grow from strength to strength, and would recommend anyone that is yet to participate in this experience to check it out!

2017 Mackay Region Tourism Awards

Congratulations to all the winners and tourism operators involved in the 2017 Mackay Region Tourism Awards held last Friday! We were delighted to assist with the judging process this year and were impressed with the variety and quality of the tourism products and services that call Mackay home.

New Enzo’s on the Beach is Open for Business!!

One of the Fraser Coast’s favourite dining spots, Enzo’s on the Beach has now finalised a complete rebuild that has taken place over the past 4 months. Located on the beachfront in Hervey Bay, Enzo’s on the Beach has now recommenced trading, and will also commence dinner service on Friday 22nd September. The venue is also fully licensed!!

DR Tourism again partnered with the very talented Lee Lee Creative to produce the new, rivaltised Enzo’s on the Beach branding. This new branding will soon be featured on new signage at the new venue and we are thrilled with the results.

Swimming with Whales in Hervey Bay Now a Permanent Fixture

For the past 3 years, Hervey Bay’s whale watch operators have been working with the Queensland Government to implement a swim with whales trial in line with a strict code of practice. It has now been announced that the trial is over, and operators can offer this experience on an ongoing basis. Both Tasman Venture and Blue Dolphin Marine Tours offer swim with and whale immersion experiences respectively.

Tourism Noosa GRIP Program

Tourism Noosa’s Global Ready Industry Program has officially commenced with a full day industry workshop, and DR Tourism is delighted to be involved in this program for a second year running through the delivery of a one on one mentoring program for several Tourism Noosa members (tourism operators).

‘Graduates’ of the Tourism Noosa GRIP Program will attend the Australian Tourism Exchange trade show in Adelaide next year, where they will meet with a number of key trade partners from all over the world.

Corroboree West 2017

DR Tourism attended the Corroboree West event on the Gold Coast in October 2017 on behalf of our clients. As a part of this event, Danielle met with close to 300 agents from key western hemisphere markets, including the United Kingdom and Northern Europe, Germany, Switzerland, France, Italy, North America and South America.

2018 will be a big year for DR Tourism on the trade show front, with the team attending the Australian Tourism Exchange event in Adelaide, the Australian Marketplace event held in Los Angeles, Queensland on Tour North America and a dedicated sales training day spent at Viator’s head quarters in Los Vegas!

The Institute for Tourism Leadership Australia

The Institute for Tourism Leadership Australia is calling for enrolments to join its innovative Tourism Leader’s Program commencing on the 5th October 2017. This exciting initiative offers a 14 week program that is designed to develop innovative, engaged and inspiring senior managers to meet the workplace and personal growth challenges encountered by leaders in today’s fast moving tourism industry.
